The core of the PLACES project (http://www.openplaces.eu/ ) is formed by more than 60 European

City Partnerships in 28 countries. PLACES project is dedicated to the cities of scientific culture. The

coordinators are the European Network of Science Centres and Museums ECSITE) and Universitat

Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. PLACES provides a tool and a methodology by which is possible to

map and follow the developments in the City Partnerships which constitute alliances of science

communication institutions and local policymakers. The partnerships have been the basis for

collaborative work between local stakeholders to develop Local Action Plans targeting science

communication policies in European cities and regions. The appointed national correspondent for the

Czech Republic was Adolf Filáček, who also provided the CZ comprehensive national report „Prague -

City of Scientific Culture".

2011–2013 (7. rámcový program EU)

Evropský projekt PLACES (Cities of Scientific Culture) (http://www.openplaces.eu/ ) je čtyřletým

projektem financovaným ze 7. rámcového programu EU (2010-2014). Koordinátorem je European

Network of Science Centres and Museums ECSITE) a Universitat Pompeu Fabra v Barceloně. Cílem

projektu, který je realizován ve více než 30ti evropských (a asociovaných) a dalších zemích, je propojit

a zmapovat vztahy mezi vědou, společností a rozhodovacími subjekty (staholders) jak po stránce

obecných procedur a mechanismů, tak i po stránce hlavních konkrétních projektů a klíčových aktivit.

Za českou stranu je partnerem jednak Techmania (Centrum pro vědu/muzeum v Plzni), jednak FLÚ

AV ČR, v.v.i., v roli spolupracujícího subjektu. A. Filáček je konzultantem projektu a jeho úkolem bylo

sestavit národní zprávu a zpracovat případovou studii „Prague - City of Scientific Culture".
