Jiří Bureš is a doctoral student at the Institute of Sociological Studies at Charles University. His research topics include Niklas Luhmann’s social systems theory and quantitative analysis of science. At the Institute of Philosophy of the Czech Academy of Sciences he is a team member on the Czech Science Foundation project "Funded and Unfunded Research in the Czech Republic: Scientometric Analysis and Topic Modeling". In the project, he focuses on themes related to patterns of concentration and applies econometrics to measure inequalities in research funding.
